The
first step is to provide your selected agency with some basic information about your
current financial status and biographical information. Counselors will take a look at your
submitted information and inform you of their preliminary thoughts on how they can help
you manage your finances.
The second step is to
provide a more detailed listing of your financial status. This is necessary to begin the
process of building a counseling program that is best suited for your personal financial
status.
Online and Telephone Counseling are
free. If you would like to make an appointment with a counselor in an office near you,
there is a nominal counseling fee which is assessed on a sliding scale based on the level
of your household income; counseling fees vary from $0 to $37.00
